Publications and Contributions

Everything below is collaborative work, and the credit belongs to the working groups and organisations that published it. My role is described exactly, without inflation, in each case.

Policy

From Taboo to Treatment: The Case for Compassionate Access to Psilocybin in the UK — Drug Science, 2023. Role: Contributor, International Policy. Named on the report's authors page as a contributor, alongside Professor Jo C Neill, Professor of Psychopharmacology at the University of Manchester. Not an author, not a co-author. The report ran to seventy-nine pages and pre-publication review was requested by the governments of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Saint Vincent and the Netherlands. It considers compassionate-access models — including Canada's Special Access Programme — for patients with serious unmet need.

Special Access Program Tip Sheet for providers, suppliers and patients — MAPS Canada, first edition, December 2023. Role: named under "Developed by", one of nine, on behalf of the Psychedelic Access Community of Practice. It gathers Health Canada process guidance, typical SAP responses, FAQs and application templates for navigating compassionate access. It is an independent educational resource, not a Health Canada document.

Review of the provincial Opioid Agonist Treatment Support Program — BC Centre on Substance Use and the University of British Columbia, June 2023, by invitation.

Public education

Contributor — Substance Guides: DMT, mescaline and ayahuasca — Psychedelic Support. Educational overviews of pharmacology, traditional and contemporary context, and risk considerations, written for a general and professional readership.

The Heroic Dose vs. the Art of Dosing People — Psychedelic Scene Magazine, 2023; republished in Psychedelic Pathways Magazine, Issue 3, 2025. Co-written with Bénédicte Mannix. An argument for dosing as a clinical and relational judgement rather than a number.

Risks to the Heart: A Cautionary Manifesto Against Microdosing — An Elegant Mind Counselling, 2023. On cardiac considerations in psychedelic use.

harmreductionadvocate.com — founder. The educational archive this site preserves.

A note on how these are credited

Contribution and authorship are different things, and the difference matters in a field where both get blurred. Where I contributed, this site says contributed. Where a document names me under "Developed by", it says that and nothing more. If you find a description of my role anywhere that reads larger than what is written here, this page is the correct one.

Education, not medical advice.
